MONTHLY GDP UP IN AUGUST

Economic research firm e-forecasting.com today announced that
their flash estimate of US monthly GDP for August went up 3.6%.
Following an increase of 1 percent in July, the real-time
monthly GDP, expressed at seasonally adjusted annual rates in
chained 2000 prices, increased 2.3 percent in August to
$11,782.3 billion.
In a note to clients, CEO Maria Simos noted, For a second time
in a row, GDP has increased in the third quarter despite
declines in employment which were not sufficient enough to
overcome productivity gains which grew 4.3% in the second
quarter in the business sector. Our estimates for the first two
months of the third quarter indicate continued gains in
productivity.
