Bio: Evangelos
Otto Simos, Ph.D.
Chief Economist
Dr. Evangelos Otto Simos serves as Strategist
and Chief Economist at e-forecasting.com. He has researched and
analyzed domestic and international economic conditions and
assessed the outlook for business, consumer, and financial markets
for over thirty years. Dr. Simos has synthesized and evaluated
surveys of prominent economists and executives to support
decision-making for Fortune 500 clients. He has also designed and
built econometric models to support predictive intelligence for
industries and regional governmental agencies. At the corporate
level, Dr. Simos has led and participated in consulting projects
dealing with market analyses and long-term planning. His unique
approach to econometric modeling has led to the development of
several unique and more-timely indicators than currently
available, such as US monthly GDP and monthly global leading
indicators, which have gained support through the global economic
analysis community.
Dr. Simos is also a Professor of Economics at
the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University
of New Hampshire. He has an international education and work
experience, with a Ph.D. in Economics from Northern Illinois
University.
Beyond his consulting and teaching, Dr. Simos
is the Editor for International Affairs in the Journal of Business
Forecasting and Editor of the e-Journal of Global Forecasts. He
has been listed in the Who’s Who in the East, in the United States
and in the World. A member of several professional associations,
he has presented a plethora of papers in national and
international conferences. His findings have been published in
many scientific and professional journals including the Journal of
Business Forecasting, the Journal of Political Economy, the
Journal of Monetary Economics, Zietschrift fur Nationalokonomie,
the Journal of Financial Research, and Weltwirtschaftliches Archiv.
